To help its customers stay connected with friends and family during these difficult times, Airtel has announced that it will be offering its Rs 49 recharge package free of charge to low-income users. This, according to the telecommunications giant, will be a “One-time gesture” for its huge customer base of Rs 5.5 crore, especially for those living in rural India. Furthermore, the company also announced that it will offer double benefits for its prepaid customers who purchase the Rs 79 recharge package.
Airtel’s announcement comes on the heels of Reliance Jio recently announced that it will offer similar benefits to its customers. The latter offers Jio Phone owners an additional 300 minutes of free outgoing voice calls every month. “During the entire period of the pandemic”.
On the other hand, Airtel prepaid customers will now get the Rs 49 recharge plan for free, which offers 100MB of data and Rs 38 of talk time over a 28-day period. The company says the profits represent Rs 270 crore and will help low-income customers in India. “Stay Connected During the Pandemic.”
Apart from this, Airtel will also provide double benefits for the Rs 79 recharge plan. This includes a talk time of Rs 63.95 along with 200MB of mobile data valid for 28 days. So, following the new offers, customers who buy this package will get Rs 128 in talk time and 400 MB of mobile data.
