Ahead of the long-awaited Google I / O 2021 conference, an alleged promotional video for Android 12 leaked online. Coming from trusted forecaster Jon Prosser, the released YouTuber an exclusive video recently, showing a presentation slide for the Android 12 announcement. It also included a short promotional video detailing some of the key new features of Google’s upcoming mobile operating system.
Now if you don’t know, Google started rolling out Android 12 developer preview in February of this year. Thanks to these, we’ve seen a ton of new features like the additional dimmer feature for screen brightness and one-handed mode that are coming to Android devices. However, the new promo video and presentation slide in Prosser’s video show more than you can expect from Android 12.
The presentation slide showcases a new UI that looks pretty clean and minimal, new widgets for media, weather, a new brightness switch, a new snooze / dismiss switch, and support for stacked notifications.
In addition to these, Prosser shows a new UI for delivering lock screen notifications, which has a much larger clock in the middle. In addition, it also shows a redesign of Gboard. Well, it seems to be real, since according to recent reports, Google is testing a new version of Gboard with new themes, fonts and UI changes online with Android 12.
For example, there is now a clear distinction between the top tip bar and keys, and there is also a new pill-shaped “? 123” button that replaces the old square button with rounded corners in Gboard.
So if these leaks come true, Android 12 could be one of the most feature-rich versions of Android ever. However, we won’t know for sure until Google officially introduces it in its I / O 2021 keynote, which begins tomorrow.
