Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Will Run Google Wear OS

After launching the Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch Active 2 late last year, Samsung is now gearing up to launch the next-gen Galaxy Watch in the coming days. Dubbed the Galaxy Watch 4, the wearable will run on Google’s Wear operating system out of the box.

Galaxy Watch 4 will arrive with Wear OS

The biggest update for the Galaxy Watch 4, according to SamMobile report, it will be the new operating system. The upcoming smartwatch will run Wear OS with Samsung’s One UI on top. One UI 3.x, according to the report, will be completely new software for Samsung’s smart wearable devices.

Samsung is aiming to ditch the Tizen operating system for its smartwatches starting this year. Hence, the Galaxy Watch 4 will come with many new features and functionalities for users to take advantage of. Also, the smartwatch will come with a revamped user interface for greater ease of use.

According to the report, the Galaxy Watch 4 will have a walkie-talkie feature similar to that available on the Apple Watch. It will allow users to send short voice messages to their contacts to facilitate communication.

In addition, the Korean giant is developing three new models of the Galaxy Watch 4. They are said to be codenamed Wise, Fresh and Lucky. While “Wise” will supposedly feature a classic look with a rotating bezel, the other two models will sport a sporty look. So, according to the report, although the operating software will be new, the appearance of the devices will be the same as their predecessors.

As for the price and the release date, there is no official information about it yet. However, the company could launch the Galaxy Watch 4 alongside its new foldable phone during a rumored “Unpacking” event for July.
