Zoom End-to-end Encryption

Zoom has finally rolled out the most awaited and important security feature for its free user. End-to-end encryption will help people to share something personal in meeting. This will also ensure both free and paid users are secured in meeting. And data will only be shared between the participant, other will not have access, not even Zoom can have meeting data.

After enabling end-to-end encryption, user can not access some features like Cloud Recording, streaming, live transcription, breakout rooms, polling, 1:1 private chat, and meeting reactions. All participants have to use a Zoom app that supports end-to-end encryption, as the browser version will not work. If you uses these features then you will loose E2EE from your meeting and user enjoy’s the regular meeting.

Zoom said, “this feature will make harder for anyone outside of the video call, including zoom to access the video call. This will be rolled out in next update of version 5.4.0 for desktop and mobile user. In order avail, user have to verify a phone number and add billing information. This will help them to secure data and reduce abuse.

Streaming on YouTube

In next update, user can now stream there meeting on YouTube. In order to stream meetings on YouTube, one should start a meeting. Then tap on ‘More’ in the Meeting/Webinar controls. Now you get the option of ‘Live stream to YouTube’. Once you tap on it, you will have to log in to YouTube and authenticate your account. After successful authentication, you can set the privacy of the live stream (Public, Unlisted, or Private) and tap on the ‘Go Live’ button.
